Objectives And Key Results OKR
Energy without direction is chaos; unmeasurable inspiration is merely an illusion. The objective represents the heart, while the result represents the mind.
The greatest misconception of corporate organizations is believing that vision can manifest itself on the field organically. The OKR (Objectives and Key Results) system is the mathematics of translating a high-level strategic dream (Objective) into measurable, ruthless, and precise numbers (Key Results) at the operational level. When building a structure from scratch, the fundamental rule must not be forgotten: An inspiring objective alone is useless; the results supporting it must possess mathematical precision that can be tracked second by second.
The Objective is an ambitious and motivating compass indicating where the company wants to go. Key Results are the milestones that prove how close the organization has gotten to the direction indicated by that compass. If a result does not contain a number, it is not a KR; it is merely a good intention. The power of the system lies in ensuring that everyone, from the top executive to the frontline specialist, falls into the exact same mathematical alignment.
