The Marketing Funnel AIDA
A customer does not buy the moment they see the product; the mind requires a digestion process designed to transform an unfamiliar object into an object of desire.
The marketing funnel models the psychological journey a cold prospect takes from the moment they first encounter the brand to the act of purchasing. The AIDA (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action) model is the structural framework of this journey. When building a marketing mechanism from scratch, a broad audience is drawn to the top of the system (Attention), and then this audience is filtered and guided downwards through content and value propositions.
Each stage of the funnel requires different engineering. Purely logical arguments are not enough to turn interest into desire; a combination of emotional triggers and rational proof is essential. When it comes to the action stage, it is vital to remove all technical and cognitive barriers in front of the customer, making the process frictionless. Measuring the drop-offs in the funnel determines the health of the system.
